Helping make Porirua and the wider area a better place to ride.

Mana Cycling Group (MCG) is an award-winning, volunteer-based charitable cycling club working to make Porirua and the wider area from Pukerua Bay to Tawa a better place to ride — for all ages, abilities and types of riders.

Since 2010, MCG has advocated for and supported cycling across the region, with a strong focus on developing and maintaining trails, creating opportunities for young riders, and helping build a thriving local cycling community.

MCG's primary focus recently has been on creating a national-standard community mountain bike trail park on Rangituhi-Colonial Knob, including multi-use trails. The current cost of progressing the trail network and maintaining the broad range of trails falls mainly on the club, which is made up entirely of volunteers with a passion for creating a great mountain bike park in the area.

MCG volunteers put in countless hours building, maintaining and improving trails, while working with the community and local organisations to advocate for better riding opportunities.

But it's not just about trails. MCG supports youth riders through sponsorship, runs local riding events such as the ManaFunduro, and supports events that bring riders into the area — including the Porirua Pump Track Nationals and other local cycling events.

Funding helps cover equipment such as leaf blowers, compactors and e-barrows, materials such as topcourse, fixings, timber and bridge sheets, plus petrol and fuel for equipment and volunteers while they're working.
